Rebecca Holden Browning is the owner and lead designer of Rebecca Browning Design, a residential architecture firm.  Her background is in fine arts and architecture, and she holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design degree from the University of Kansas and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. 

 

Rebecca has 15+ years of experience in the architecture field.  She has worked on both commercial, multi-family and single family residential projects.  She had the opportunity to work and study with noted Dallas architect Russell Buchanan at his firm Buchanan Architecture for a number of years.  There she worked primarily on residential projects with an emphasis on creating modern new builds and renovations using unconventional materials to construct simple, energy efficient, and sustainable projects.  The breadth of her experience includes taking projects from the design phase through to completed construction.  Rebecca started her own practice in 2011 and has completed a number of residential projects, including new builds and remodels.  She and her family lived in London for several years where she continued to work on projects in the US.  Now back in Dallas, she has resumed her work on residential projects, with an emphasis on remodeling historical and architecturally significant homes.  She has completed multiple large remodels in the Swiss Avenue Historic District, bringing historical homes back to life with special attention to original details while modernizing the homes to make them practical for everyday life.  She also served on the Site Committee at the Dallas International School for many years, where she helped with the overall design and direction of the architecture and site planning of both school campuses, including the design and implementation of several playgrounds, classrooms, and school entrance, to name a few.
